Note points to difficulty in Alzheimer s
Remembering the Past
caretaking in murder/suicide
Monday evening, Feb. 8, at 6:22 pm, Citrus County Sheriff s Office 911 officers
received a call that a possible murder/suicide had occurred on Daly Lane in the Inverness
Highlands. Deputies responded to find that Kay Renner, 89, and her son, Jerry Lee Mone,
69, were both dead from a gunshot wound. Notes at the scene from Mone indicated that his
mother had advanced stages of Alzheimer s, and he was having extreme difficulty in caring
for her. It appears that Mone shot his mother and then shot himself, however, detectives are
waiting on autopsy reports from the medical examiner s office. The pair rented the home
and had only been there for a short time, about three months. Detectives will continue their
investigation into the incident.

of girls had allegedly been given alcohol by Ms. Brevairio in her home on three different
occasions. Several students allegedly told the principal they d attended Homecoming after
drinking alcohol provided by Ms. Brevairio. The principal s letter also mentioned allega-
