The many Hats of
Vultures
Join  us  Wednesday  March
16th, 10 a.m. at the Withlacoochee Gulf
Preserve Education Center for another
in our series of environmental presenta-
tions. Andrea Junking, a specialist at the
Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park
will give a great presentation on "The
Many Hats of Vultures".  Most people
have a bad opinion of these birds. But An-
drea will show how vultures provide
a needed ecological service and prevent
disease. If you think you know vultures,
you'll be surprised to learn about their
family units, how they help rangers in Af-
rica and more. These birds are much more
than just the clean up crew! After the pre-
sentation those who wish can walk up the
Preserve s Observation Tower to try and
spot our local vulture friends!
