TAX TIPS

Hello everyone. It’s been a hectic
two weeks and most of you should be receiv-
ing your tax materials for filing.
This week, I want to focus on filing
a Rapid Refund which is a temporary loan
from the bank. It’s very possible to get your
refund in one day, but, it does come with a
monetary expense from the bank.
A Refund Anticipation Loan (RAL) is
a temporary loan given by the bank where
as you can receive your refund within one
to two days from filing your return. In some
cases, it’s taxpayer friendly because you
don’t have to pay upfront for the services ren-
dered by the tax preparer. Instead, the bank
disperses the funds amongst themselves, me,
the tax preparer, and you, the taxpayer. The
bank takes 1% of your refund plus process-
ing fees which is set by the bank. Process-
ing fees are about $50-$60. The bank runs a
credit check on the taxpayer, then approves
or disapproves the RAL. If approved, your
tax preparer will have a check ready for you
the next day. If disapproved, you will be
bumped to waiting between 8 and 15 days
for your refund to arrive. In this case, the 1%
of the refund fee is canceled and only the
