$122,800 raised for
New Food Pantry
The drawing was held on Satur-
day, Dec. 4, for the 2011 Corvette donated
by Jewel and Steve Lamb of Crystal Motor
Car Co. in Crystal River for the We Care
Food Pantry/Feed Citrus County fundrais-
er. The lucky winner is Donna Johns, of In-
verness, who has the option of taking either
the car or $53,000 in cash. Of the 2,000
tickets printed for the fundraiser, 1,228
tickets were sold, and at $100 per ticket,
$122,800 was raised to go toward the con-
struction of buildings, a food pantry and a
food distribution center at the intersection
of S. Premier Ave. and W. Cardinal St. in
Homosassa, that will be adequate for keep-
ing food in sufficient quantities to meet the
growing need of the homeless and hungry
in Citrus County. The We Care Food Pan-
try currently feeds more than 2,700 needy
people in Citrus County every month.
“I want to thank everyone who
worked so hard to help us,” said We Care
Food Bank president Diane Toto. “Wheth-
