On Dec. 13, DCF sheltered the victim from LaJeunesse. The victim was released
from the hospital on Dec. 14, after surgery and the application of a waist cast. LaJeunesse
is to have no contact with the victim.
LaJeunesse was intervewed by a CCSO detective on Dec. 16. He admitted that he d
caused the injury to the victim and also that he was frustrated at being asked to change the
victim s diaper. He said he d just started the video game and had gotten up to get a drink
when he was asked to change the diaper. He said that another relative was asleep on the
couch, and he felt that she should have awakened and changed the diaper, instead of him.
He said that the injury was unintentional, that he was angry and just yanked on the right leg,
causing the injury. LaJeunesse was placed on no bond.
Fire in Homosassa garage is suspected arson
The Citrus County Sheriff s Office, Division of Fire Rescue was dispatched to pos-
sible brush fire in Homosassa at 6862 S Greengate Pt., a rental residence, at 9:56 a.m., Dec.
22. Dispatch advised later that a vehicle was involved, as well. Dispatch advised responding
units that the fire was possibly intentional, that the subject was still on-scene and deputies
were also enroute to the scene, as well. Deputies arrived on scene and advised incoming fire
units that a garage was fully involved. The first arriving unit found a 20í x 30í freestanding
garage and car fully involved in fire. Crews initiated an exterior attack, extinguishing all fire.
The Florida State Fire Marshal was contacted due to information from dispatchers, coupled
with information gathered on scene by the deputies that a suspect was questioned who may
have been involved in igniting the fire. The report stated that the fire caused 100% in loss of
