Michael Aubrey Vermette, 30, S. Buckley Pt., Inverness, was apprehended by the
Citrus County Sheriff s Office, charged with petit theft with a previous conviction of any
theft. His bond was set at $500. He was accused of placing the barcode for an $8.96 fishing

upset that a relative became heavily intoxicated the previous night, and that he d gone "to
Walmart to steal stuff" to get his mind off his troubles. He said what he did was wrong - and
he had money to pay for the items, but he chose not to.
Travis Reed Malcom, S. Gross Ave., Homosassa was arrested by the Citrus County
Sheriff's Office, Dec. 1, charged with aggravated child abuse and battery of a 23
sexual
month old girl. His total bond was set at $20,000. The report stated that Malcom kept three
children for a short time while the parents briefly left the home. Whenthe returned,

nation was conducted and it was determined that the child had been hit and sexually abused,
but that the other two children had not been injured. The report stated that Malcom had been
a friend of the parents for 15 years and had often babysat the
children.
Kyle Stephon Potter, 23, W. Spring Park Ct., Homosassa,was arrested by theCit-
rus County Sheriff's Office, Dec. 4, charged with felony grand theft and burglary of an un-
occupied conveyance; total bond $6,000. The report stated that the conveyancea boat
was
at a S. Boulevard Dr. residence, and a tackle box containing assorted lures and hand tools
was taken (valued at $300). He was also charged with another case of grand theft and false
verification of ownership to a metal recycler; bond $7,000. This report details that two brass
propellers were stolen and taken to a metal recycler and sold for $348.15. A third arrest was
for violation of probation (no bond) and possession of drug paraphernalia ($500 bond). This
report stated that Potter is on probation for trafficking in stolen property since Nov. 11, 2013
was found by law enforcement to have a metal pipe in his possession.
Lacey LeeAnn Bethel, 29, Townsend Blvd., Brooksville, was arrested by the Citrus
County Sheriff's Office, Dec. 15, charged with failure to appear. Her bond was set at $4,000.
Upon her arrival at the Citrus County Detention Facility, Bethel was found to be in posses-
sion of 1.4 grams of methamphetamine. She was additionally charged with possession of
a controlled substance and introduction of contraband into a detention facility (total bond
$15,000).
Tiffany Brianne McLean, 27, homeless in the Homosassa area, and Richard Lewis
were arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, Dec. 15, charged with misdemeanor
trespass after warning (Bell Villa Hotel, Homosassa). The owner said the couple had caused
a disturbance at the motel since their arrival, after being warned. The report stated the couple
was arguing about money and Lewis wanted McLean to leave.
