Accident Fatal For Man in Wheel Chair

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, Michael Anthony Kur-
piewski, 31 of Inverness in a wheel chair, was traveling on State Road 45 at Inverness Bou-
levard and attempted to cross east over SR-45. A 2008 Honda (4 door) driven by 80 yr. old

lane. The right front of the Honda struck the wheel chair which was propelled into the right
lane.
A 2001 Mazda 2 dr. driven by forty-four yr. old Reginald Mason of Floral City
was traveling south on SR-45 in the right lane approaching Inverness Boulevard and the left

ries sustained in the crash. According to the report the incident remains under investigation.
The accident occurred shortly after 7pm.Monday, Dec. 10th.

on the murder charge. Per the capital felony warrants, none of the arrestees was granted
bond.
Sheriff Jeff Dawsy isn t releasing specific details about the investigation, which
still remains open and active, but he did state that detectives have been working non-stop on
this case since Seeger was murdered. In a committed effort to solve this murder, detectives
issued 37 subpoenas and 17 investigative warrants and conducted more han8eews •••

in Florida and out-of-state jurisdictions.
Suspects were identified, early in the investigation, but crucial evidence and tes-
timony had to be gathered in order to build a solid case. “This was an extremely difficult
and complex investigation,” said Sheriff Dawsy, “And I refused to rush the process and cut
corners. Technical investigations such as this one can t be driven by public opinion or politi-
cal pressure to make an arrest.”
According to Dawsy, he and his detectives and crime scene technicians are confi-
dent the evidence they collected will result in the successful prosecution of those respon-
sible for the murder of Jamie Seeger.
Florida traffic fatalities decreased in 2011
Fatalities on Florida’s roadways decreased in 2011 by nearly 2%, adding up to a
32% reduction in Florida traffic deaths since 2005. The fatality rate per mile traveled in
2011 held steady at its all-time low, first reached in 2010. Those are some of the findings
in the recently released 2011 Florida Traffic Crash Statistics Report by the Department of
Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, an annual report containing data from traffic crash re-
ports submitted by state and local law enforcement agencies. Fatalities as a result of traffic
crashes on Florida roadways decreased between 2010 and 2011 by nearly 2%, going from
