Ewell Achord, 78, of Homosassa was visiting a friend at her home at 3930 N.
Seminole Point in Crystal River on Tuesday (11/23). They were outside burning leaves and
small sticks in a burn barrel out in the yard.
The woman went inside around 6:30 p.m. to prepare dinner and when Achord

Around 9:30 a.m. Nov. 24th, Achord’s body was pulled from the canal. The medi-
cal examiner released the remains to the funeral home selected by Achord’s daughter, who
lives out of state.

