Woman faces fine for dumping at
Food Ranch recycling trailer
The Inglis Police Department recently issued a citation for illegal dumping to a
woman who lives in Citrus County, south of town in the Crystal Manor neighborhood. Ac-
cording to the offense/incident report, the officer told the woman that Levy County and the
Town of Inglis have asked the police department to enforce illegal dumping of garbage at
the Levy County Recycling trailer in the parking lot at Food Ranch, as the illegal dumping
problem has begun to escalate.
In a patrol of the recycling trailer at Food Ranch at 10:35 p.m. on Oct. 26, the of-
ficer discovered a bag of household trash that had not been there during the previous inspec-
tion of the area, a short time earlier. The 10 to 15-pound bag of garbage was inspected for
clues which led the officer to 10375 N. Cork Fir Terrace in Crystal Manor, looking for Cory
Rodman. The officer was informed by a man at the residence that Rodman was at work at
Badcock’s Furniture in Crystal River. The officer went there and spoke with Rodman, who
told him that he was aware of the items the officer had taken as evidence, but he had not
taken the garbage to the recycle bins at the Inglis Food Ranch. He said that his grandmother,
Mary Sechman, usually takes the recyclables to Food Ranch, and the officer should speak
with her for additional information.
The officer then spoke with Ms. Sechman who said that a bag of garbage from
Rodman’s bedroom must have gotten into the recyclables by accident, and she must have
thrown the garbage into the recycle bin by mistake. When she was issued the citation for
illegal dumping, Sechman told the officer, that in the future, she would pay closer attention
to what she throws into the recycle bins.
According to IPD Chief Steve Dixon, the fine for illegal dumping, a civil citation,
can be up to $500, depending on the court’s decision. The fee to Levy county for a 33-gallon
bag of garbage at the landfill is 75¢.

spotlight and siren. Puckett continued south into Citrus County at speeds between 70 to
over 100 mph. CCSO deputies joined the pursuit, and the vehicle was eventually stopped in
the median of U.S. Hwy. 19 and W. State Park St. The IPD officer reported that Puckett’s
