Adopt a pet during October for $10 adoption fee!
Citrus County Animal Services is offering an adoption special for the month of
October. Come take advantage of the $10 adoption fee every Saturday during this month
for dogs and cats ($10 county license fee not included). This special is sponsored by Citrus
County Foundation for Animal Protection. For more information, please call 352-746-8400.
Animal Shelter Searching for Adoption Stories
In recognition of National Adopt-a-Shelter Dog Month, Citrus County Animal
Services is searching for heartwarming, uplifting stories about a dog that has been adopted
from the animal shelter in the 2015 Happy Tails Dog Adoption Story Contest.
Each entry must be 500 words or less. Entries may include one photo with each es-
say. Please include owner name and contact information (phone, address, email), dog name
and adoption date (between October 1, 2014 and September 30, 2015).
Entries must be submitted by November 1 to billie.lombardo@citrusbocc.com
with the subject line "Adoption Contest". First, second and third place winners will be noti-
fied and must pick up their prize at the shelter. All entries become the property of Citrus
County Animal Services and winners must agree to have their story published.
