Concert in the Park this Saturday
A treat awaits those who attend the next stop on the Withlacoochee Area Resi-
dents Concert Series. Rainbow Springs State Park, 19158 S.W. 81st Place Road just north
of Dunnellon is all decked out in its holiday finest, ready to dazzle. This Sat., Dec., 3rd at
5:30pm a donation of $10.00 per person will get you to the Felburn Pavilion where seating
is available and all the music happens. Before the music begins at 6:30, grilled hamburgers,
hotdogs, chips, soda, water and homemade desserts will be for sale.
Keith Hope and Charlie Creek take the stage at 6:30pm. See you this Sat., Dec 3rd
at Rainbow Springs State Park, for a wonderful meal, delicious desserts and great music.

2011 Crystal River Lighted Holiday Boat Parade
When: Saturday, December 17, 2011. Parade begins in the bay at 6:15 p.m. Cost:
Free to view and participate. NO registration fee. Theme: “Christmas in Florida” - Anyone
wanting to participate is welcome to meet (with a decorated boat) near the river markers in
Kings Bay, beginning at 4:45pm. Parade will start promptly at 6:15pm. Where: Come watch
the boat parade from any location on Kings Bay to see SANTA before he takes off on his
trip from the North Pole!!! Best viewing areas are Pete’s Pier, The Crystal River Ale House
and Marina, 3rd St. Pier, Dockside Ice Cream Shop and Crackers Restaurant and Tiki. Santa
will exit at Crackers with treats for the kids! Prizes we’ll be given for “BEST THEMED
BOAT” and “MOST LIGHTS.” All participants are responsible for his/her own vessel. For

Stargazing at the Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve
The Chiefland Star Party Group is presenting a telescopic view of the stars and
planets at the Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve in Yankeetown, Friday evening, December 16.
There is no entrance fee. It will begin with a laser show of the Fall Constellations. Several
large telescopes will be available for viewing including the largest “GoTo” Scope in the

Southeast. Multiple objects will be observed including the bands on Jupiter and its moons.
The late rising moon gives little night light interference for better stargazing conditions. The

preserve has very low artificial lighting which adds to the experience and is hard to find in
our electrified environment. For your safety we recommend arriving before sunset (prior to
5:30) to sign in. Bring a flashlight and bug spray.
