tacted a Seniors vs Crime representative who advised the detective that the woman was to-
tally blind, but otherwise competent. The detective reported also, that although the woman is
elderly and blind, she is very cognizant of what is going on and very clear in stating the facts
of the case. The victim stated, that between January 2015 and late April 2015, her account
went from $25,000 to less than $5,000. The victim was alerted by her bank to the heavy use
of her bank card, and that is when she contacted Seniors vs Crime for assistance.
The victim told detectives that the card was given to Brown only for use in purchasing items
the victim needed, and nothing more. The victim s bank statements reflected the information
already contained in the various reports that had been made during the investigation of the
fraud case.
The affidavit stated there were also receipts from Walmart showing purchases of
men's shampoo, men's deodorant, jewelry and a pregnancy test, "etc,." which the victim
stated she never received or authorized Brown to purchase. The total amount for unauthor-
ized withdrawals and purchases is in excess of $12,000, according to the report.
On Nov. 17, a detective spoke with Brown at her residence. She admitted that she
had worked for the victim, and that her duties were to pick up items for the victim such as
medical and general supplies and medications and providing transportation for physician
appointments. The report stated that Brown admitted she had possibly gone overboard.
