NCVC, the lead agency for volunteers and donations in Citrus County emergency
activations, hosts the drill semi-annually to prepare in the event Emergency Management
declares an evacuation. Volunteers are needed to assist with contacting the Special Needs
registrants and verifying their contact information. In the event of an actual evacuation, Spe-
cial Needs registrants would be contacted by volunteers to confirm they have transportation
to evacuate safely. At the opening of this training session all volunteers will be briefed on
procedure and a script will be provided for volunteers to follow.
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance and have the option of reg-
istering with the Volunteer Center so they may be called upon to serve during an actual
evacuation. Refreshments will be served.
