Remembering The Past
Heidi Lynn Cordle, 28, 226 S. Lincoln Ave., Crystal River, was arrested by the
Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, Nov. 9, charged with trafficking or endeavoring to traffic in
stolen property. She is accused of taking a ring from a woman in an assisted living facility
and selling it at a pawn shop on Nov. 3.
Charles Scott Glemann, 41, 1598 W. Nat Turner Ln., Dunnellon, was arrested by
the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, Nov. 8, on an Alachua County warrant for grand theft
(more than $20,000, but less than $100,000).
Levy County Turned Down for BP Oil Funds
The Levy County Visitors Bureau had been seeking $433 thousand in BP oil spill
promotional funds however, on November 8, 2012 their office learned Levy County was
not awarded grant money as was hoped. A total of 110 grant recipients were picked from a
pool of more than 350 applicants. In Florida, thirty-three organizations will receive $13.4
million. In Alabama, twenty-one groups will get $8.3 million. In Mississippi, thirteen or-
ganizations will receive $6 million and in Louisiana, forty-three recipients will get $15.9
million.
Pasco County will receive $250,000. Pasco's grant application stated that the res-
taurant industry suffered because patrons were afraid to order seafood caught in the Gulf of
Mexico. 2012 has been a record year for tourism, however visits in the aftermath of the leak
were down. BP said it estimates it will pay about $7.8 billion to resolvethan 100,000 • • •
