The Citrus County Commission held
land use hearings and included consideration of large scale amendments to the Citrus Coun-
ty Comprehensive Plan.
Clark Stillwell, on behalf of River Lodge Resort, LLC, was expected to present
a comprehensive plan amendment for re-designation of approximately 170 acres from In-
dustrial District, Low Intensity Coastal and Lakes District, and Public/Semi-Public Institu-
tional District, to Recreational Vehicle Park and Coastal and Lakes Commercial at 13150
W. Foss Groves Path to the east of the existing River Lodge Resort RV Park near Inglis.
In a separate request, Stillwell was scheduled to present an amendment for Citrus
Mining and Timber, Inc. for a text amendment to add a new land use district to be known as
the Port District. The new district would allow for master planned waterfront development
that could include residential, commercial, and industrial uses. A related separate amend-
ment would redesignate about 545 acres from Industrial District, Conservation District, Ex-
tractive District, and Transportation/Communication/Utilities District to Port District and
Transportation/Communication/Utilities District on the Generalized Future Land Use Map
on property north of the Florida Barge Canal and west of U.S. 19 south of Inglis.
