At the 11th hour, of the 11th
day, of the 11th month, 1918 came the
signing of the Armistice between the Al-
lied Nations and Germany ending World
War 1 hostilities. Armistice Day was
later changed to Veterans Day to honor
not only deceased Veterans who died in
service to their country, or as a result of
injuries incurred in battle (which is what
Memorial Day is for) but Veterans Day is
set aside to thank and honor Veterans who
served honorably in the military in war-
time and in time of peace.
As a member of the AMVETS
and VFW Auxiliary I have listened to
many war stories which make me appre-
ciate even more the sacrifices our service
members have made. The camaraderie is
incredible and if you want to be a part of
these great organizations please join. It

stories or share experiences that are hard
