Woman's Club  to remember and thank our Veterans, the Yankeetown

As Veteran’s Day gives us a time
Inglis Woman’s Club took the opportunity to celebrate and honor locals that gave of their
time to our military service over the years. The yearly Inspiration Brunch honoring our Vet-
erans began with President Helen Ciallella stated “I got to vote yesterday and we can thank
all of you for that. We have our freedom because of you. We can’t thank all of you enough.
Some gave some, some gave all.”
An awesome video then was played of the rock group KISS unlike they have ever
been seen before. Out of their costumes and make up they performed on the large screen
each song that represented the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and finally
the United States itself. As each song was sung claps went up from the different services
besides those of us who benefit from these brave people s service. This incredible moving
video can be found on You Tube as From KISS USO Tour of Iraq or Gene Simmons Mili-
tary Tribute “Honor our Troops”.
The room was decked out in every use of red, white and blue decorations, place
settings and flags. The food as always was prepared by the members and is always outstand-
ing. Among the group was U S Coast Guard Station Yankeetown Chief Highnote and two
station members. Our freedoms are insured by those that fought in the past and we owe a
great deal to those that risked their lives to. We also remember those today that are on our
own and other shores that are doing what those before them did. Freedom is not free and
many still pay a price for their service that is not visible nor recognized, to those a special
