CCSO’s CPI Section scores well
in peer review
By Deborah Russell

Is everybody as sick and tired as
I am of constantly hearing negative news
on the fluff news programs of today? Well,
we have one organization in Citrus Coun-
ty - and run by a Democrat - that’s turned
bigger into better and shown that you truly
can make lemonade out of the most bitter
lemons. I’m talking about the Citrus Coun-
ty Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Jeff Dawsy and
his agency’s Child Protective Investigative
Services (CPI) Section.
The Citrus County Sheriff’s Of-
fice, now in its fourth year under contract
with the Florida Department of Children
and Families to conduct child protective
investigations, received high marks in its
yearly peer review evaluation completed
in late October. In the CPI Section, which
includes investigative response, program
management, and emergency removal and
placement, the agency earned a total aver-
age score of 96.85%.
