I wasn’t looking for a dog to train as a service dog for Chosen2Serve, Inc. Our or-
ganization is still in its infancy, I was not ready to get our first program dog candidate. This
young couple was standing in front of the Dunnellon Tractor
Supply, avoiding the rain and holding onto the leash of this
black and white pup. They needed to find him a home. Nope,
not me, I am not ready for a dog... Then I saw those eyes,
those large, luminous orbs like golden moonlight, staring up
at me with such patience and understanding. Next thing I
knew I held out my hand for his leash. SoCo went home
with me happily and was introduced to the Chosen2Serve,
Inc pack at one of our weekend barbeques. The men discussed giving him a strong name
befitting a strong, handsome pup. Out of the blue, one of the men called him “Gabriel” un-

When you adopt a dog or a cat, it isn t just the animal that gets saved, they usually
end up saving the people who love them enough to adopt them!
