politics, business, athletics
and social circles. Problem
spotters are plentiful and
they are usually the people
who keep meetings going past deadline,
keep coaches and leaders on the proverbial
hot seat and people like me and you just
plain stirred up.
On the other hand, there are
problem solvers. These people are a more
scarce breed. They are usually not as vocal
or showy as the spotters, but they are the
ones who not just recognize problems, but
take the lead in trying to solve them. Dick
Kellman was a problem solver: The com-
munity of Inglis will miss him greatly.
My experience with Dick Kell-
man was limited, but I did sit on the Cham-
ber of Commerce Board of Directors with
him for a short time. I have also attended
a few Inglis City Commission meetings
where he dutifully served. In some of those
