Citrus County Animal Services is offering an adoption special for the month of
October. Come take advantage of the $10 adoption fee every Saturday during this month
for dogs and cats ($10 county license fee not included). This special is sponsored by Citrus

Animal Shelter Searching for Adoption Stories
In recognition of National Adopt-a-Shelter Dog Month, Citrus County Animal
Services is searching for heartwarming, uplifting stories about a dog that has been adopted
from the animal shelter in the 2015 Happy Tails Dog Adoption Story Contest.
Each entry must be 500 words or less. Entries may include one photo with each es-

and adoption date (between October 1, 2014 and September 30, 2015).

Free Alzheimer's and dementia awareness workshop
The St. Paul's Lutheran Church, located at 6150 Lecanto Highway in Beverly
Hills, will host a free Alzheimer s and dementia awareness and care-giving workshop from
4 to 5:30 p.m. on November 19, 2015. The workshop is open to the public.
Entitled"ABC Dementia," the workshop will define Alzheimer s and dementia,

better communication, and offer tips for becoming a more effective and less stressed care-
giver. Workshop attendees will each receive a handbook and a wallet card certifying their
attendance and training as "Dementia-Friendly." While the workshop is free, registration is
