Man critically injured in crash; woman arrested on DUI charges

A crash between a motorcycle and a car on Oct. 17 resulted in substantial injuries to
the motorcyclist, who was transported in critical condition to Bayonet Point Medical Center
in Hudson, FL.
The crash occurred in Homosassa at 7:47 pm on W. Cardinal St at S. Gross Ave.
According to the Citrus County Sheriff s Office, two witnesses stated that the motorcyclist
was traveling east on W. Cardinal St., slowly approaching S. Gross Ave. with the left turn
indicator on, and the Kia was unable to slow to avoid Homosassa, Florida 34446 of

The report stated that Ms. Busiel took no evasive action to avoid crashing into the
motorcycle. The report also stated that Ms. Busiel had the smell of alcohol on her person,

that her eyes were bloodshot and watery, and her speech was slurred. Ms. Busiel said she'd
consumed two beers earlier in the evening. She submitted to roadside sobriety testing, and
performed poorly.
