Inglis Commission - Continued from page 1

hind the old Florida Highway Patrol Station north of Inglis. Commissioners Tom Brennan
and Sherry Ely both expressed the desire to get input from the town s volunteer firemen
before making any final decision on whether or not to change to county service. A workshop
was scheduled for Wednesday, October 24 to further discuss details.
The Inglis Town Commission voted to fill the vacancy on the commission with
former commissioner Bob Webb. As prescribed by the city charter, the commission was
charged with the responsibility of replacing Richard Kellman who recently passed away.
Six Inglis residents, Webb, Michael White, Glenda Kirkland, Ann Morin, Charles
Pickett and Betty Berger expressed an interest in filling the vacancy and each were awarded
time to make a brief presentation to the commission at the beginning of the regular meeting.
Each commissioner wrote their choice to fill the seat on a paper ballot then the Inglis Clerk
read the results which she immediately turned over to the City Attorney. Webb received
three votes and Michael White received one from commissioner Sally Price.
