Trail of Trunk Treats and Festival
The Inglis Recreation Committee is sponsoring its 2013 Trail of Trunk Treats &
Halloween Festival that will be held at the Inglis Community Center on Saturday, October
26. The Inglis Community Center is located behind town Hall at 135 Hwy 40 W, Inglis,
Florida - on Hwy. 40, west of the U.S. Hwy. 19 and Hwy. 40 traffic light intersection, 10
miles north of Crystal River.
A Haunted House will be open to the public on TWO NIGHTS, Friday AND Sat-
urday, October 25th & 26th, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, also at the Inglis Community Center.
On SATURDAY , October 26, ONLY, the Trail of Trunk Treats & Halloween Festival will
be held. TheTrail of Trunk Treats will start at 4:00 pm and run through 6:00 pm, and the
Halloween Festival will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. For the safety of the Trail of Trunk
Treats participants, Inglis Ave. will be closed for three hours, 3:00-6:00 pm, on Sat., Oct.
26.
There will be fun for the entire family, at a nominal cost, with a maze, games,
music, hay rides, food and drinks, a Jail-n-Bail, Face Painting, Pumpkin Painting and a
Haunted House. There will be a Pre-Carved Pumpkin Contest - the “Commissioners Cup”
- and a “Best-Decorated Trunk Award” for those participating in using their vehicle to dole-
out treats to the children. At 6:00 pm, the winners of the Scarecrow Contest, “Scarecrow
Mania,” will be announced.
“Scarecrow Mania” is currently ongoing at participating many Inglis businesses.
Anyone wishing to sign-up their vehicle’s trunk to participate in doling out treats in the

Ruth Ruppert and Freda Gibson set up a practice run of the challenging maze that is used dur-
ing the Town of Inglis Halloween Festival October 26. The haunted stage is being upgraded
this year from scary to bone chilling under the direction of Kim Millen. The haunted house
in the community center will be open Friday and Saturday night to give you another night of
goose bumps before theSaturday festival. This year the Trunk of Treats along Food Ranch,
Inglis Ave. and Hwy 40 to the Inglis Community Center will let kiddies fill bags with lots of
goodies. The festival last year was a blast but this year the Inglis Recreation team is going
