1  Outside the Box, a contest of creativity Box" Entries
Remembering the Past
sponsored by the Citrus County Chronicle and the Inverness Festival of the Arts Committee,
will be unveiled soon.
For the contest, students at Citrus High School, Lecanto High, Crystal River High,
and the CREST school are painting newspaper boxes in bright and creative designs and mo-
tifs that range from whimsical to serious. Eight boxes in all will be painted by teams from
the four schools.
Festival of the Arts Committee Chairman Patricia Smith says, “The Art Outside the
Box project is a fun but effective way to demonstrate that art can be created with anything.
It is a good opportunity for students to demonstrate their creativity and earn recognition for
their school.”
This year s contest includes eight teams from the four schools. The team from
CREST includes Jeremy Mosher, Armand Benzing, and Francis Reid, supervised by Jea-
nette Brew. Their box is called “Minion.”
Citrus High School has fielded two teams.  Lecanto High s submissions will in-
clude all three grades, and all participants are members of the National Art Honor Society.
The Crystal River High submissions include two solo efforts. Free voting for the
public will be provided through an on-line voting system. Voting will take place October 21
through November 3, and the winner will be announced on November 4, 2013.
