were arrested on various charges resulting from the investigation. The homeowner was co-
operative with officials during the investigation and present when the search warrant was
served. He was not aware of the drug situation or the condition of the home. The Department
of Children and Families (DCF) also responded to the scene. Two minors were
removed from the home and taken into state care due to the arrest of the couple
and the deplorable living conditions.
CCSO Sergeant Ed Blair and his investigators were very disturbed
by the conditions inside of the home. "Many of us have been doing this a long
time, and this is some of the worst filth and living conditions we ve seen. To Houghwot
know that kids lived here is absolutely heartbreaking."
Lindsey Rene Houghwot, 27, was arrested on felony charges of
manufacturing methamphetamine, conspiracy to manufacture methamphet-
amine, possession of listed chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine,
possession of methamphetamine and possession of alprazolam; along with a
misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia. Her total bond was set at
$14,000. Additional charges are pending.
