Household Hazardous Waste drop-off
In addition to the regular weekly collection on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Citrus County Landfill also will be conducting a week-end drop-
off program for residents on Saturday, October 24, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Participants may
bring up to 60 lbs or 10 gallons of materials free of charge.
The landfill is located on State Road 44 between Inverness and Lecanto. Hazard-
ous household waste includes substances such as pesticides, herbicides, oil base paints and
stains, paint remover and paint thinner, solvents and degreasers, stale gasoline, automobile
fluids, household cleaners and pool chemicals. Materials will be accepted only in original
containers, and up to 60 pounds total per visit will be accepted per household. Call Solid

Besides the fact that it is stamp collecting and breast cancer awareness month, we
have two students who are one letter away from breaking their own records! Drashti Patel

The classroom weekly winner, for this week, was Ms.McGill’s class, with a total
of 31 letters. Also, we now have 25 students in the officer’s club(ten letters).In the officer’s

club, the top ten writers have at least writen 26 letters or more each.So far, there have been
ninty participants through the Power of One Program. In addition, the second through fifth

On a sad note, the Power of One is stated to end on December ninth.There will be awards
on Tuesday,December the fifteenth.So, good luck and keep writing
