An Open House was held at the Yankeetown Inglis Woman’s Club on 56th St in Yankeetown
this weekend with some great food provided to those who came out. The event was to unite
members and introduce new people to the workings of the Woman’s Club which has supported
the South Levy communities for almost a half century now. Historical pictures, events and
articles flashed on a screen as folks enjoyed the delicious grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and
delightful dishes of all kinds finished off with a wide variety of tasty desserts. The clean or-
ganized Thrift Shop was open for browsing and buying. The historic photo and clipping albums
depicting the history of the club were flipped through by Hedy Emerson, head of the craft day
each week, Ruth Smith , a member since the early 80’s, Ruth Levins, a past President of the
Crystal River Woman’s Club and 50 year supporter of “volunteerism” as well as active member
Woman’s Club Carol Karsner. Photo by Sally Price.
