Pet Patrol
County Names New Animal Services Director
Citrus County Department of Community Services has named Morgan Woodard as
the new Animal Services Director. Woodard will start in his new position on Monday, Oc-
tober 17. Woodward is coming from Hillsborough County as the Pet Services Manager for
Hillsborough County Pet Resources, where his responsibilities included front desk opera-
tions, volunteers and events management. His previous experience includes animal services
officer, training specialist, positions at the SPCA in Texas and Florida, director of Animal
Services for Henderson County Government, Hendersonville, North Carolina and director
for the Blue Ridge Humane Society in North Carolina. He is certified as an animal control
officer by the National Animal Control Association and has also served in the U.S. Navy.
Woodward is filling a position that has been vacant since Kevin Mallory retired in
September. Woodward can be reached at Citrus County Animal Services at 352-746-8400.
Commissioner to Hold a Town Hall Meeting this week
Commissioner Ron Kitchen will be holding a Town Hall Meeting on Thursday,
October 13 for the general public to attend. The meeting will be held at the Homosassa
Library, located at 4100 Grandmarch Avenue in Homosassa, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
