Inglis Moves Forward on CDBG Grant
Remembering the past

*Approved by 4-0 vote to proceed with a $650,000 Community Block Grant Ap-
plication for housing rehabilitation. The grant will assist nine low to moderate income resi-
dents with physical improvements to their homes. The grant doesn’t require matching funds.
*Heard a presentation by Dr. Kathryn Frank from the University of Florida entitled
“Planning for Coastal Change”. Her presentation states that sea level at Cedar Key has risen
8 inches over the past 100 years and based on historical data compiled by scientists through-
out the Gulf region sea level may be rising at an accelerated pace.
Dr. Frank urged Commissioners to be prepared in the areas of water quality, current
changes, storm water management, emergency preparedness and protection of natural re-
