One-Stop Career Center Moves to Lecanto
Remembering the Past
The Citrus County one-stop center, now located in Inverness, will close on Jan. 17
at 5 p.m. and re-open as CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion on Jan. 27 at 8 a.m. in Lecanto.
The new center, at 683 S. Adolph Point, is just north of West Gulf-to-Lake Highway (State
Road 44), about one mile east of the intersection of SR 44 and Lecanto Highway (County
Road 491).
Workforce Connection's name change to CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion (Ca-
reerSource CLM) becomes official in February and is part of the switch to the new state
unified brand affecting Florida's 24 workforce development regions.
Workforce Connection's mobile resource unit will provide limited services Tues-
day, Jan. 21-Friday, Jan. 24 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the closed Inverness site, 1103 E.
Inverness Blvd. All workforce Connection offices, including mobile services, are closed
Monday, Jan. 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Frank Calascione, one-stop career center manager, said the new location is easily
accessible from all points of the county, may be reached via public transit, and is convenient
to the College of Central Florida and Withlacoochee Technical Institute two of Workforce
Connection's key training and education partners.
"We're excited about making this move early in the New Year," Calascione said.
"We're now easier to find and it's an easier commute."
The new office also offers an expanded resource area with twice the space and
