A case report was sent for review by the Inglis Police Department to the State
Attorney’s Office on Jan. 2, regarding a theft that occurred in November. The report stated
that Heath Leighton Thompson, 25, 88 Our Rd., Inglis, went into the Family Dollar store

in Inglis, took a package containing a cell phone valued at $105.93 to the toy department,

where he cut open the cell phone package with a knife, concealed the phone on his person,
then left the store without paying for it. The stolen cell phone was recovered on Jan. 2, and
the officer confirmed that Thompson sold the cell phone to a person in November for $30,
shortly after it was stolen. A police officer contacted Thompson by phone on Jan. 3, and he
agreed to turn himself in at the police department before 6:00 p.m., but isplay Ad up,

that she was intoxicated and combative. The officer then went to Blair’s residence and spoke
with her. The report stated that she admitted to pointing the shotgun at the victim and threat-
ening him.
Barbara Sapp, 42, 170 Linda St., Inglis, was arrested by theDepart- •••

ment, Jan. 14, after a traffic stop. According to the arrest report, the officer saw Sapp driving
a motor vehicle on E. Cason Blvd. about 8:50 p.m., and he was aware that Sapp’s driver’s
license is suspended due to an arrest several months previous for driving while license
suspended or revoked. The officer confirmed this information and activated his emergency
lights for a traffic stop after Sapp turned south on Linda St. She accelerated while driving
south on Linda St. and made a right turn into the driveway at her residence, where she ac-
celerated, lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree on the property. Upon the officer ques-
tiong her if she was okay, she said “no,” and the officer noticed that she was bleeding from
her head. The officer asked Levy County Dispatch to contact the Inglis Fire Department and
Levy county Medic Unit 3 to evaluate Sapp, who said she didn’t want to go to jail, the reprt
stated. After she aws medically evaluated, she was placed under arrest for attempting to flee
from/elude a police officer and driving while license suspended or revoked knowingly. She
was also issued civil traffic citations for having an expired tag and having no insurance.
Timothy Wade Arnold. 35, Statenville, Georgia, was arrested by the Inglis Police
Department at a Palm Point Dr. residence, Jan. 21, charged with aggravated domestic bat-
tery of a pregnant woman, The report stated that Arnold grabbed and pushed the woman,
causing minor scratches to her face, while aware that she was pregnant. He was arrested
after the officer spoke both with Arnold and the woman. He was incarcerated at the Levy
County Jail with no bond.
