line - a short distance away.
Mr. Braden entered a home in a remote area of Citrus County at 13347 S. Old Jones
Rd. in Floral City. The home is less than one mile (on foot) away from the Flavian Rd. home
where the two men were caught by homeowners in the act of taking items from the porch.
U.S. 19 at C.R. 40 · Inglis, Florida
Theron Dunn, 37, the resident of the 13347 S. Old Jones Rd., Floral City property
owned by Dunn s parents, investigated noises he heard, with a weapon in hand. He entered
the home to find Braden pointing a gun at him. According to deputies, the gun was found by
Braden while he was burglarizing the home.
A short standoff occurred, according to deputies, and Dunn convinced Braden to
put the gun down and leave, but as Braden was walking out, he struck Dunn on the face,
then got behind him and began choking him. Dunn retrieved his gun, reaching behind him
to shoot, hitting Braden.
Dunn yelled for help and posted a message on Facebook, because he had no cell
phone, and the residence had no land line. An unidentified person saw the post and called
911. Deputies with the Citrus County Sheriff s Office went to the residence and found
Braden dead. The investigation is being reviewed by the State Attorney s Office.
