Poster Contest Promotes Saving Water
Citrus County Utilities is seeking student participation in the 2015 "Drop Savers"
poster contest. Students in grades K-12 are encouraged to create a poster depicting a water-
saving idea, in slogan form, drawing form, or both. Posters must focus on reducing water
use, encouraging water saving behaviors and other WaterSaving ideas. "Don't Pollute the
Water" is a good message, but does not really promote using less water.
A twenty-five dollar cash prize will be awarded to first place winners in each of the
six divisions. Posters will be judged by grade level as follows: Division 1-kindergarten and
first; Division 2- second and third; Division 3-fourth and fifth; Division 4-sixth, seventh and
eighth; Division 5-ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth; Division 6-special needs.
Submissions must be received by February 20, 2015. Contest details and the appli-
cation are located at: http://www.bocc.citrus.fl.us/waterres/conservation/conservation.htm.
Take time to view the 2014 Drop Savers winning entries while on the website.
The Citrus County Utilities' poster contest is part of the annual Citrus 20/20 Save
Our Waters Week campaign and the Florida Section of American Water Works Association
state-wide Drop Savers poster contest. For more information, contact Debra Burden at
