It looks like we are back to some more seasonable weather, in fact this past Saturday and
Sunday were two beautiful days where several hundred people volunteered and visited the
Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve. Saturday was part of a national event promoted by Disney.

The event was Give Day Get a Day, where volunteers, for a days worth of help received a
free day at Disney. This event was hosted by Joe and Shirley Dube. The WGP was one of
the biggest projects selected in the state.
On Saturday One Hundred Fourteen men, woman and children helped in clearing

brush, cleaning trails, painting, rebuilding gates, replacing screens, replanting and renewing
the butterfly and bog gardens. We had carpenters, painters, masons, handymen , woman and
children do a major sprucing up and improvement of the grounds and facilities.
