was set at $2,000. The pharmacist at a local Publix Pharmacy contacted the sheriff’s office
that three prescriptions that had been called-in to the pharmacy were fraudulent because
the pharmacist was aware that the doctor supposedly prescribing the medications by phone
no longer practices medicine in the state of Florida. The pharmacist was advised to tell the
caller that the medication was ready for pickup, and BibiHamann was arrested after com-
pleting the transaction at the pharmacy. BibiHamann told deputies that the doctor’s office
had shut down, and he had not found a new doctor for pain management. He said that he had
a friend call in the prescriptions for him, that he has a drug problem and needs help.
Hediye Sibel Ortalan, 30, 990 W. Silver Meadow Loop, Hernando, was arrested by
the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, Jan . 17, charged with retail petit theft and possession of
a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $5,250. The report stated that Ortalan had taken
several items from the store and paid for some of them, but had items in her purse she did
not pay for. When she was issued a Notice to Appear citation on the charge, she said she was
unsure whether or not she could make it to court and insisted she be arrested, instead. She
told officers she had Xanax she'd obtained from another person inside her purse, along with
other drugs, but she did not know what they were, along with weapons, including a knife,
razor blades and a pair of scissors.
