Gary Dean Johns, 35, 1125 Stark Ln., Steinhatchee, FL, was arrested by the Citrus

County Sheriff’s Office, Jan. 15, charged with a felony, criminal mischief, vandalism of

 

    

$1,000 or more. His bond was set at $2,000. He is accused of breaking a large plate-glass

window valued in excess of $1,000 in the workout room at the Bella Oasis Motel in Homo-

sassa during a fight.

Derrick Jamal Schriven, 27, 3191 N. Amphibian Pt., Crystal River, was arrested

by the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, Jan. 15, charged with possession of a controlled sub-

stance (approximately one gram of cocaine) and fleeing from a law enforcement officer. His

    

bond was set at $10,000.

 

Peggy A. Abney, 47, 815 W. Ramm Rd. 13, Claremore, Oklahoma, was arrested

    

by the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office at the Bell Villa Motel in Homosassa, Jan. 15, charged

  



with possession of a controlled substance (a 60 mg morphine pill) and

          

paraphernalia (six used needles and a crack pipe). Her bond wasNov.$5,500. The report

                 

     

stated that the arrest came about when deputies checked the room due iscomplaints of a



     



gun being fired from the area of the motel where Abney was staying, that a checkbook from

an Oklahoma man and a credit card statement from an Oklahoma man were found in the



             



room, and that a warrant for second degree robbery was issued in her name, but the state of

Oklahoma will only extradite a person from a surrounding state.

     

Victor Walter BibiHamann was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, Jan. • ••



17, charged with a felony, obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or deception. His bond

     



was set at $2,000. The pharmacist at a local Publix Pharmacy contacted the sheriff’s office

    

that three prescriptions that had been called-in to the pharmacy were fraudulent because

the pharmacist was aware that the doctor supposedly prescribing the medications by phone

       

no longer practices medicine in the state of Florida. The pharmacist was advised to tell the

caller that the medication was ready for pickup, and BibiHamann was arrested after com-

       

pleting the transaction at the pharmacy. BibiHamann told deputies that the doctor’s office

     

      

had shut down, and he had not found a new doctor for pain management. He said that he had

a friend call in the prescriptions for him, that he has a drug problem and needs help.

       

Hediye Sibel Ortalan, 30, 990 W. Silver Meadow Loop, Hernando, was arrested by

       

the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, Jan . 17, charged with retail petit theft and possession of

     

a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $5,250. The report stated that Ortalan had taken

several items from the store and paid for some of them, but had items in her purse she did

not pay for. When she was issued a Notice to Appear citation on the charge, she said she was

unsure whether or not she could make it to court and insisted she be arrested, instead. She

told officers she had Xanax she'd obtained from another person inside her purse, along with

other drugs, but she did not know what they were, along with weapons, including a knife,

razor blades and a pair of scissors.




