Citrus County is preparing a planning study for a corridor segment
to Highway (CR-491). The segment, designated as the CR-491 Corridor Planning Project,
extends from SR-44 north to CR-486. The study will identify needed infrastructure im-
provements in order to provide a strategic planning approach, which will guide development
along the corridor and its future widening. The study will include travel necessities, public
water and sewer amenities, comprehensive stormwater management systems, and other es-
sential utility services.
Citizens are invited to participate in a community workshop to guide the develop-
ment of this segment of CR-491. The workshop provides a forum of interested citizens an
opportunity to discuss the major infrastructure issues and challenges, and ultimately to de-
velop consensus on strategies to address these issues and challenges. The emphasis of this
