and he was going to try to help. He said his plan was to walk to a bank in
Homosassa and rob it with a 9 mm gun he had. The roommate said he was
unsure where Simmermon had gotten the gun, but he did see it prior to the
robbery. After the robbery, he was going to cut through the graveyard, shed
his outer clothing, then hide out in the woods making his way down to Ost-
West St. After Dark, the roommate said, Simmermon said he would call him
and have him ride his bicycle down to Ost-West St. to get the money to give Simmermon
to the relative, and he was going to Illinois to hide out. The roommate stated
to detectives that he didn't want to be involved, and did not think Simmermon would go
through with the plan.
The relative said he'd heard about the plan, by that time, but he'd been asleep when
the discussion about the robbery allegedly took place with the relative's roommate. The very
clear photographs from the bank's surveillance were shown to Simmermon's roommate and
relative, and they both identified the suspect as Simmermon.
On Jan. 8, Simmermon was located at 6941 W. Crosbeck Ct., Homosassa, and tak-
en into custody. As he was being handcuffed, he said, "All the money is in my pocket," the
report stated. The report stated he was carrying a large sum of U.S. currency in his pockets.
Simmermon declined to speak with deputies. No bond was given him due to Simmermon
being a flight risk, according to his plan to flee to Illinois, as per his roommate.
The following day, Simmermon was also charged with the Jan. 4 armed robbery of
the Tara Food Mart, located at 7 W. Grover Cleveland Blvd., Hommosassa. The report stated
