Jack Benjamin Purcel  3, of W. Dunnellon R  Cryst  River,
the Citrus County Sheriff s Office, August 27, charged with unlawful activity with certain
minors and violation of Pinellas County probation for possession of a controlled sub-
stance.
According to the arrest report, the sheriff s office became in-
volved in an investigation in June of an allegation that Purcell had been
having a sexual relationship with a 16 year-old girl.
The girl told detectives that the relationship has begun in early
January 2010 and had continued through May. She said she had origi-
nally told Purcell that she was older than she was, but prior to any sexual
activity, she d told him her actual age. She said Purcell had initiated their
sexual activity by trading marijuana for sexual favors.

The report stated that Purcell had a conversation with the vic-
tim s father on Aug. 13 regarding the relationship, and he d denied providing marijuana to
the girl, but did not deny the sexual relationship. The father allegedly told Purcell to stay
away from his daughter and never have sex with her again, and Purcell agreed to have no
further contact with the girl.
A deputy located Purcell on Aug. 26, around 11:00 a.m., at the intersection of W.
Dunnellon Rd. and Northcut Ave. Purcell verified his identity to the officer and agreed to
speak with him.
