Grand Opening ceremonies for the Citrus County Transit
Thursday, August 22 at 10 a.m.The new building is located at 1300 S. Lecanto Highway in
Lecanto, in front of the County Maintenance Complex off of CR 491.
The 9,000 sq. ft. building will be a transportation and bus station and is funded

hardened to Cat 3 Hurricane Standards and will serve as the County Operations Center in
the event a major storm hits our area.
The Transit system has been in operation since 1978 under the County’s Depart-
ment of Community Services/Transportation Services. It currently operates 30 buses and
vans with an average of 358 trips per day. Deviated fixed routes linking Beverly Hills,
Lecanto, and Inverness are available. The Orange Line Deviated Fixed Route was estab-

River and Homosassa.
Citrus County Transit also operates a demand-response door-to-door bus service
