Yankeetown Mayor's Report
A Guest Commentary by Yankeetown Mayor Dawn Clary
Big Cat Study - Levy County citizen, Noel Desmond, is investigating the possibil-
ity of a panther population in Levy County. He is asking that people who have spotted a big
cat, to turn in a sighting report if they think it was a panther. Mr. Desmond has dropped off
pictures at the hall, of panthers. If you think you have seen a panther, please come in and
circle the picture that most closely looks like your sighting, give any other information you
can and sign it. Panthers are on the endangered list and there seems to be an opinion among
some agencies that they are not in this area. As a note, he is not interested in bob cat sight-
ings which are plentiful around here.
