Suerez Jose Salazar, 50, Inverness, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's

Office, July 15, charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence (DUI) with property

damage, and driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, drugs, or chemicals ($2,000
bond). The report stated that Mr. Salazar had crashed into a utility truck on S. Little John
   
Ave., Inverness, about 9:12 pm, and smelled strongly of alcohol, had bloodshot watery
eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady while standing. The driver of the utility vehicle told

the deputy that Salazar's vehicle was swerving, then crashed into him. He said that Salazar

attempted to leave the scene, but backed into a tree. The report stated that Mr. Salazar had
difficulty understanding the deputy in regard to performing roadside sobriety testing, and he

attempted one exercise, but did not continue and asked for a translator. At the Citrus County

Detention Facility, Mr. Salazar's breath alcohol test results were 0.208 and 0.203, the report
stated.

