Greenways & Trails To Host National Trails Day® Bike Ride
TRENTON - In recognition of the 17th annual National Trails Day®, the Department of
Environmental Protection s (DEP) Office of Greenways & Trails (OGT) will host a fam-
ily-friendly bike ride along the beautiful Nature Coast State Trail on June 6, 2009. National
Trails Day® is sponsored by the American Hiking Society and represents more than 1,000
events hosted by trail and community groups, public agencies and businesses to inspire the
public to discover and celebrate the benefits of trails.
This National Trails Day® bike ride will be an open, low key excursion on the
smoothly paved Nature Coast State Trail. Ride options range from a few miles for beginners
to up to 64 miles for experienced cyclists. Helmets are required for children under 16 and
recommended for everyone.
