don't see how a commercially licensed salvage yard (D&D Salvage, Hudson St. Inglis) can
be charged."
White said the whole ordeal is, "as much about differences between me and town
attorney Brad Bettin." White placed an item on a special meeting agenda that was to call
for the termination of the attorney. Because of a technicality the item did not come up for
discussion. White made reference to addressing employees. Bettin is a contractor for Inglis
and not an employee. White has been critical of high attorney fees and said, "I am only try-
ing to save taxpayer dollars, and now I am suspended."
The Newscaster reported last week that after several months attorney Bettin noti-
fied the governor s office of the charges. Mayor Glenda Kirkland said it was because of an
anonymous complaint from a Levy County official. (See mayor s comments on page 11.)
White had a chance to plead "no contest" but turned it down and will go to trial.
There's no word on when that will be. White said, "I can't attend town meetings as a com-
missioner, but I will be there as a citizen."
Rain Barrel and Rainwater Harvesting Workshop - August

water for outdoor uses. After a discussion about outdoor water use, participants will receive
a 55 gal. food-grade rain barrel, with solid brass spigot and mosquito control screening. Pre-
registration is required by July 26, 2014. Program cost is $50. Register early due to limited
