Homosassa Man Killed in One Vehicle Crash
Pet Patrol
A Homosassa man, David William Crosby, 71, was killed in a one-vehicle traffic
crash that took place around 1:00 p.m., June 9, in Citrus Hills. The Florida Highway Patrol
determined that Mr. Crosby was traveling east on County Road 486 (Norvell Bryant Hwy.),
west of N. Citrus Hills Blvd., where he lost control of his vehicle and swerved off the road
onto the south shoulder. Mr. Crosby’s vehicle traveled into the southbound lanes of N. Cit-
rus Hills Blvd. and struck a palm tree that was in the median. Mr. Crosby was transported to
Citrus Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The report stated that Mr. Crosby
was wearing a seat belt, and routine alcohol testing is pending.
