Live burn demo. at
All Hazards/Hurricane
Expo, May 16
Citrus County Emergency
Management is holding its annual All
Hazards and Hurricane Expo on Sat.,
May 16, at the Crystal River Mall
(1801 U.S. Hwy. 19, Crystal River) in
the former Belk storefront. The expo
will be held from 9:00 am until 1:00
pm.
This year, the Citrus County
Sheriff s Office, Division of Fire Res-
cue will feature a live burn demon-
stration at 11:30 am to show the value
of having a home fire sprinkler system
installed. The two-room display will
be available for viewing only during
the expo. According to Fire Rescue,
a typical home fire becomes deadly in
three minutes or less and can threaten
the lives of residents and their pets.
The installation of fire sprinkler sys-
tems in homes could save thousands
of lives each year.
