Finalist for Citrus County Administrator withdraws
Pet Patrol
One of the three finalists for the County Administrator’s job notified Citrus County
Human Resources Director Sherry Anderson Friday that he had accepted a job elsewhere and
was withdrawing his name from consideration for the Citrus job. Charles Lynn, former village
manager of Wellington in Palm Beach County, withdrew, leaving two other finalists which

were Walter Munchheimer, former director of finance management for Palm Beach County and
assistant administrator in Escambia County, and Brad Thorp, Citrus County’s current Commu-
nity Services director.
The commission had planned to interview the candidates in a special meeting May 5
but that meeting was postponed Friday morning by Chairman John Thrumston because Com-
missioner Winn Webb could not attend. An item to reschedule the interviews was put on the
May 12 regular meeting agenda.

by the county to operate the canning facility by appointment. All three have experience in
canning and are food safety certified. The full-time position for the center was cut April 17
along with 39 other positions in a reduction of manpower by the county. Believing the center
was closing, some residents who use the center for canning and preserving complained to the
county commission at its April 28 meeting.
The county staff said it did not intend to the shut the center down but was looking
for a more cost efficient way to man it and fund its operation. They said the plan could even
