on Suwannee boating accident
A Gainesville woman
Suwannee River near Old Town.
Nobbie Cannon sustained internal injuries when the tube she was riding in was struck
by a personal watercraft.
According to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) investi-
gators, Cannon was being towed by a personal watercraft operated by Allison Reddick of
Archer. Kathleen Weir of Gainesville and Simone Chriss of Archer were passengers on the
11-foot Yamaha personal watercraft. The group was traveling south on the river.
Therman Corbin (04/08/65) of Old Town was driving a 10-foot Yamaha personal
watercraft in the opposite direction. He turned around after passing Reddick’s vessel and
wasn’t aware that Cannon was being towed. Corbin then collided with Cannon, FWC of-
ficials stated.
Cannon was taken to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, where she underwent surgery.
FWC officials are investigating the accident. Anyone with additional information about the
accident is asked to call 888-404-3922 to report it.
