Bid on a Basket at Yankeetown School
Yankeetown School's 16th Annual Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) Spring
Basket Auction  takes place at on Thursday, April 23. Stop by the school to view the
baskets and make bids between 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. that day. Each year, students and
teachers from each classroom create an idea, bring in supplies or money and then donate a
completed basket. The school and local businesses also contribute to the PTO fundraiser.
Various gift cards, oil-change vouchers, T-shirts and hats are often included ­ as well mul-
tiple other items. Previous entries range from movie- and dinner-themed baskets to those
filled with fishing, beach, and even laundry necessities.
Tickets sell for $0.25 each or five for $1. Just place as many tickets as you'd like in
the bag next the one you want to win. At 6 p.m., someone will draw a ticket from each and
announce the name selected. Those not present will be contacted by phone. In addition,
attendees may buy tickets for a cash money tree worth $100. These tickets are $1 each or
six for $5. Pulled-pork sandwich meals with coleslaw and baked beans, hot dog meals and
other snack items will be available for purchase. The money raised by this PTO fundraiser
goes toward classroom supplies such as paper, pencils, books, dry erase markers and soft-
ware.

pm (winner takes 80%). Friday is "RED SHIRT FRIDAY;" all day, wear a Red Shirt, bring
two non-perishible food items for our food bank, and your second drink is FREE; then at
6:00 pm, play Show Me the Money. On SATURDAY, play double-bonus "Show Me the
Money" at 6:00 pm. On SUNDAYS, 9:00-11:00 am, BREAKFAST is served; 3:00-7:00
pm, Karaoke with Cowboy Al; and at 6:15 pm, we hold our weekly Queen of
Heart
DRAWING, approaching $17,000! All day on "MADNESS MON- DAYS," pay only $1.50
for well drinks, domestic beer and sliders! T-U-E-S-D-A-Y is B-I-N-G-O, Bingo, Bingo at
