CCSO utilizes `strong-arm'
approach to traffic stop
"Wow..., but wow!
Several deputies, a deputy in
training, and a K9 team with the Citrus
County Sheriff s Office were utilized in
an arrest, Wed., April 12, when the vari-
ous units converged on a vehicle in Ho-
mosassa, broke out the drivers window
and dragged the driver out of car when he
refused to get out, then searched the ve-
hicle, found nothing that was mentioned in
the arrest report, arrested the driver for ob-
structing an officer and transported him to
the Citrus County Detention Facility, with
his bond set at $1,000!
The reason for the traffic stop?
"The license plate was not properly dis-
played," according to the arrest affidavit,
which also stated that the driver "was also
provided with a warning for improper dis-
play of license plate." Just how and where
was the license plate displayed? The re-
port did not say.
At 11:13 pm, the report stated,
Deputy Sudlow was involved in a traffic
stop and advised another patrol unit to per-
form a traffic stop on a red Kia, ahead of
them in the same area, due to the license
plate not being properly displayed. The
